This item is an HP 10724A Plane Mirror. It is a component in the Hewlett-Packard Laser Interferometry Distance Measurement Apparatus. The mirror is used in conjunction with various 1.5” cube interferometer bodies. Unlike a corner-cube retroreflector, the plane mirror must be critically aligned to the interferometer. The leveling screws are not present and the special spring-loaded attachment screws are lacking. The device is also missing the label, but is otherwise in excellent condition. Mirror is flawless. Because of the missing components and the light cosmetic blemishes in the chrome finish this item has been rated as ‘second grade’.
