Product Description
This is a Daedel motorized 4 inch translation stage. There is a label on the stage that says Model 44044, but that number did not show up in any of the Daedel catalogs we have on hand except in reference to a hydraulic pump. It is very similar to the model 4955-04 we have on offer (a manual positioning stage with a mechanical digital readout), however this stage does not have a standard leadscrew. The leadscrew has a 0.4mm pitch – 2.5 revolutions advance the stage only one mm.
The motor is a Slo-Syn stepping motor, type M062-FD-421, with a resolution of 200 steps per mm, or combined with the leadscrew, a step resolution of 2 microns. The motor is dated 1986. There is a Jones plug connector on the drive motor cable but I am unsure of the pinouts. The motor axis does have a manual positioning knob. The motor and handle add an additional length of 110mm beyond the stage bracket.
