Product Description
This item is an HP 10557A Turning Mirror. It is one of several basic components in the Hewlett-Packard Laser Interferometer Dimensional Measurement System. The components in the 105xx systems are usually based on a 2” cube, as is this device. The mirror is placed at a 45-degree angle, and positioned so it bisects the cube. The only mounting provisions are on the diagonal faces, so the beam can only be turned parallel to the mounting fixture.
Diameter of the mirror surface is about 1.5”, and the surface is coated. The mounting holes are face-centered based on a 1.4” square. Beams should ONLY be deflected at right angles in each laser / detector assembly in order to avoid depolarization of the laser beams.
These components have been removed from various fixtures. They meet our requirements for first quality used interferometer components. All optical surfaces are free of blemishes and there are no gouges or distortions in any of the parts that would in any way impede accuracy of measurements. Cosmetically these components appear only lightly used, if not new. Unlike new components, however, no hardware is included.
