Product Description
This is a Burleigh wavemeter for work in the visible spectral range. It is used for critical wavelength setting of variable wavelength lasers. The 'unknown' laser is compared to an internal reference laser and by interferometry the wavelength of the unknown can be determined to very high accuracy.
This instrument appears to be very complete. The drive belt has just been replaced with a new belt. On power up several error indicators are lit. The vacuum indicator is not of concern since no vacuum was hooked up to the device. The other two lamps are 'low input', which I imagine is a result of not having an unknown laser input. The second lamp is a 'ref error', however, the display does indicate the frequency of the internal HeNe laser.
The instrument is in near-perfect cosmetic condition. The interior is spotless. We do not have any documentation for the instrument, so were unable to test it further. If you are familiar with the wavemeter and interested in having us perform any tests, please contact us, and we will be happy to accommodate you insofar as we have the ancillary equipment.
As far as specifications are concerned, the wavelength range knob allows band selection between 400nm and 4 microns, however the label on the back of the instrument states VIS, so I am uncertain of the actual measurement range.
