Product Description
These Lansing gimbal mountings are capable of holding optics or mirrors up to 2 inches in diameter. Optics are retained in the mounting using a plastic threaded ring. Inside diameters of the rings vary, but most are 1.75 inches in aperture.
The micrometer spindles are of the differential helix variety. Motion from the knurled handle is transmitted to the non-rotating anvil via a second screw whose pitch differs slightly from the pitch of the main spindle handle. The result is a much smaller range of motion but a far greater degree of control and sensitivity in the setting.
Optic axis height 2.25 inches
Base width 4 inches
Base length 4 inches
Range of motion at least plus or minus 0.5 degrees
Graduated differential micrometer spindles
The mounts are in excellent condition and fully functional. Magnetic bearing pads keep the gimbal mounting rings in contact with the anvil of the setting spindle micrometer.
