Product Description
This is a custom-made three-element collector lens system with each element held within an independently adjustable black-anodized aluminum frame. The largest element is plano-convex, followed by two successive positive meniscus lenses, each slightly less wide than the previous lens. The lens elements do have a mag fluoride coating, but for which wavelength it has been optimized has not been determined. The coating on the convex surface of the plano lens does have some minor blemishes. There is also a small conchoidal chip in the corner of the plano lens (see photo).
The dimensions of the frame sandwich are xxmm wide, xxmm tall, and xxmm in total thickness. The lens elements are inches in length with the plano lens being xxmm wide and the smaller meniscus lens being xxmm wide. Focal length has not been determined as yet.
Original cost of this precision assembly was many thousands of dollars.
