Product Description
Manufacturer Description:
When an optical fiber is placed in the Fiber Mode Scrambler, pressure can be applied to several points along the fiber to create microbending. This creates a multitude of modes, mixed together to produce a stable mode (and light intensity) distribution, in about 1 inches of travel, normally achieved over several kilometers. Thus, qualities of a fiber can be checked by using a short sample and without concern for light-launch conditions.
One pressure point missing.
