Product Description
The three-axis positioner consists of three types of elements. There are three R285 axis slides, each of which have 1.75 inches of travel. These are configured in an XYZ framework mutually perpendicular with each other by means of a type R285B right-angle bracket. The entire assembly is then fixed to a precision machined magnetic base, type R280M. The center of the carriage has a tapped 3/8 - 16 hole for reception of various rods and holders in the Gaertner product line. There are also a pair of 8-32 holes for custom mountings.
The axis slides do not have calibration. The carriage is controlled by a large hand wheel which turns a 1/4 - 28 lead screw. The carriage ways are simple dovetails the tension on which is regulated by an adjustable gib. They are easily disassembled for cleaning and relubrication.
The positioners are in very good condition, but may need cleaning and relubrication.
